Salo

Whoops! Looks like, yet again, I have waited too long to check out Salo, and the opportunity has passed. Video Dogs in Carlton was the only place in Melbourne that had a copy: it was returned yesterday, damaged beyond repair. Not sure what I’ll be doing Friday night now!

(Video cassettes were much better for rental than digital video discs are. While cassettes may degrade with each play, they can still be watchable after a long time and quite a bit of wear and tear. Discs are easily made unwatchable. Worse, it is often not apparent they have a problem till half way through! I’m going to have a chat to the manager of my local Blockbuster about this tonight, actually.)

I should also mention:

• I didn’t read Frankenstein specifically with Arcadia in mind
• I have only just started How to read Sade
