The last, though about as short as one could imagine, is too cynical for my tastes. The second speaks of hard SF (the lowest form of SF ). But I love the first, it fires my imagination (despite the cliche sexism).

    well, if women are not men, then maybe it is a woman at the door. but if its a HUE-man in the chair, it might be an angel at the door. or THE HORRIBLE KNOCKING DOG!

    maybe earth is just a room? and next door is another HUE-man?
