Cucumber Surrender (4)

Cucumber Surrender (chorus)

Oh great cucumber knight, you’ve won the fight.
Your duty’s done. The battle’s won.
Oh great cucumber knight, you’ve won the fight.
Your duty’s done. The battle’s won.
You can go home. You won’t be alone.
You’ve guarded your garden and now it’s alright.
You can go home. You won’t be alone.
You’ve guarded your garden and now.

Nor is this a joke about Planet of the Apes
I like monkeys.

Monkeys aren’t apes any more than humans are apes. Singapore Zoo has many informative murals on the topic of animal confusion. (Humans are confused about the animals. The animals are not confused.)

There is an excellent photo blown up to three or so metres by three metres. There’s a tiger (or somesuch cat) hidden in plain view in there somewhere. But the patterns on it, though they seem at first blush not to blend in, make it invisible.

Camouflage need not be jungle green to blend into the jungle. In WW2, the US painted the deck of some of its carriers in jagged orange patterns.

Incidentally, the joke I linked above is one of my all time favourites. (The people at work don’t find it funny, except Ainsley.) I believe I know who wrote it. I have a theory that the internet is intelligent and is generating reams of jokes.

Media Codes: They Reach The Liver
Indian Root Pills:

In cartoons you will often see the conceit where the animators draw in such a way that it appears the projector has busted and we’re seeing the individual frames of the film paused.

This is a sign painted on the side of a wall in North Fitzroy. (Until recently it had been covered by another building.) The technique employed and the powerful colours point to a playfulness to be enjoyed when so many go for easy stereotypes or simple surrealism.
